What follows here are your Surrealism readings. The first document is a copy of Breton's Surrealist manifestos of 1924 and 1929. The second document contains short stories by the Anglo-Irish Modernist writer Elizabeth Bowen who was influenced by the Surrealist movement. The third is an excellent article showing the influence of slapstick comedy, including Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin, on Un Chien Andalou and other Surrealist films. Please think about both of these sets of readings and also watch the film below.
